O.K. so I thought I wasn’t going to get to deep on stuff, maybe I still won’t but this one started off in that direction.  For a lot of us we spend a lot of time getting, going, achieving, accomplishing, consuming.  I was riding my bike tonight (inside after all it is Michigan) and thought that if all of the things in our lives were gone we would still be happy and it might take out a few stressors and let us really appreciate what matters in our lives.  One of the things that I have found about exercise and particular an upper level of fitness that it is pure and the body comes alive.  It doesn’t matter where you are going; it’s just that you are going.  Go fast, slow, with a friend, a new town, great scenery.  Exercise certainly amplifies life but I still think that we need variety and other things to keep it interesting.  To me that is where some travels, destination experiences, and races come into play.  I was running with Angie a couple of years ago on a Sunday afternoon.  Before the run we were both just laying around not doing too much but I had a race to prepare for so we “had” to train.  About 5 miles into the run we both mentioned how pleased we were that we headed-out and the race was the motivating factor.  Pretty cool.  Racing is an adventure that helps inspire other adventures.  Gotta love that.
